Have you ever done something under peer pressure that you immediately regretted? I have...in fact, I did that very thing today. At my new firm we have childcare in the back of the building. After school today the grandson of one of my coworkers came into the building carrying a very familiar box of chocolate bars. I was standing up front with several coworkers and as I stood there this 10 year old came straight up to me (acting like he didn't even see anyone else in the room) and looked up at me through his smudged glasses and asked me if I wanted to buy a chocolate bar to help him raise money so that he could go to Washington. Everyone, of course, was watching this take place. I immediately felt pressure - especially since I'm the newbie and don't want a bad impression of me at the office. So, what did I do? I bought 7 candy bars. Dang it! Why did I say 7?? 7? Seriously, who blurts out, "I'll take 7!"??? Everyone else bought one...one lady bought two...but me? I bought 7.
Anyone want a chocolate bar?
